Why did you remain silent? Written by Sami Makhfouz Hanna Why did you remain silent, O Arabs? Why did you remain silent when Jerusalem was crying out for you? When you bent your ears and gagged your mouths, how many people have invaded your sanctuary in front of the world and in front of your eyes. Why did you let him down and cowardice is not your characteristic? Where is the revolution of blood in your veins? How many rose up and came out of your silence. Save your honor. Save your land. لماذا صمتكم

أيها العرب لماذا صمتكم

والقدس يستغيث بكم

لما صممتم اذنكم 

وكممتم افواها كم

وها هو العدو 

استباح قدسكم

أمام العالم 

وأمام عيونكم

لماذا خذلتوه والجبن 

ليس من خصالكم

اين ثورة الدماء 

في عروق كم 

هبوا وخرجوا 

من صمتكم

انقذوا شرفكم 

انقذوا ارضكم

توحدوا ومدوا 

الأيادي لبعضكم 

لكي تكونوا قوة 

ترهيبوابها عدوكم

لكي تكونوا جيشا 

عظيما تسترد به قدسكم
